You cannot take a man's car out of his garage and present it to him. It already belongs to him. Neither can you take something that already belongs to God and present it to Him. It is already His. Paul said "... ye (the inward man) present your bodies (the earthly house you live in) . " We, not God, are the caretaker of that house. " There are those who say, "Well, it doesn't make any difference about the body or what it does. " But it does make a difference to God what we do with our bodies. He wants transfigured bodies.
It says, "... I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body . " He was telling us not merely to be concerned with outward adorning, "But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price" (I Peter 3:4). This is the real man. It is not the outward man, the man of flesh and bones; it is not the body. It is the inward man. Paul referred to this "hidden man of the heart"—man's spirit—as the inward man.
